The new restaurant, at 2650 N. Sepulveda Blvd, will be the eighteenth location for the brand since its founding in 2011.

Urban Plates has locations all across Southern California serving a menu of on-premise prepared eats using fresh local produce, GMO-, antibiotic-, and hormone-free, grass-fed and finished steak, line-caught tuna, sustainably-sourced seafood, and humanely raised and sourced, cage-free, hormone-free chicken.

Items include salads, sandwiches, steak plates, grilled seafood, soups, sides, and more.

In celebration of the new opening, Urban Plates is launching a #GoodIsServed social media challenge.

The restaurant will deliver 100 meals to local first responders on Thanksgiving Day, encouraging fans to join in via social media.

Also, for every Instagram post highlighting a fan’s own “do good” moment (tagging @UrbanPlates and #GoodIsServed), the restaurant team will also donate a meal to the Torrance-based non-profit Volunteer Center.

Live through January 1, 2020, Urban Plates will donate up to 500 meals as part of this campaign.

“Urban Plates was founded on the idea that real, nutritious food shouldn’t break the bank or be hard to come by,” Jim Cannon, Urban Plates’ head of culinary, said in the release.

“We provide delicious, wholesome food made with ingredients you know, love, and can pronounce. We work with farmers, ranchers, and suppliers we trust and know our guests would trust, as well. We are thrilled to bring this mission to the Manhattan Beach neighborhood with our newest restaurant, while also doing good for the local community.”

An outpost in Long Beach is not far behind from its opening.

The planned location, at 6440 E. Pacific Coast Highway, Suite 175, is slated to debut late-December, 2019, or early-2020.
