The company’s third Los Angeles location, following Koreatown and Venice, is set to move into the current home of Trejos Tacos, according to a recent liquor license application. Co-owner Tanya Bastianich Manuali confirms this information with What Now Los Angeles and says this location is expected to open in the first quarter of 2025. When the sandwich shops open, customers can expect delicious sandwiches made with exceptional ingredients and freshly baked Tuscan schiacciata bread.
This is a massive accomplishment for the company, which is considered one of the world’s best street food experiences, and Saveur magazine called it the “home of the world’s best sandwiches.” The legendary Florentine sandwich shop has been open since 1991 under the Mazzanti family, who has been passionately running a handful of Florence locations of All’antico Vinaio and drawing crowds of Italians and tourists alike. Eventually, the family expanded the company into the United States, setting up a few shops in New York and a couple in Los Angeles.
Now, the company is ready to expand once more in Los Angeles. The 11th US location of All’antico Vinaio will sit a few blocks from the beach in Downtown Santa Monica. This will be an excellent location for the company, considering how much foot traffic moves through the area daily. All’antico Vinaio will sit across the street from Britannia Pub and next to One Stop Shop Mart at the corner of 3rd Court and Santa Monica Boulevard. While there are dozens of eateries and retailers in the area, the new All’antico Vinaio will be the only sandwich-specialty shop in Downtown Santa Monica, only having to compete with Wexler’s Deli and Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery down the street.
