Avon Opens Studio 1886, a Two-Story ‘Playground For Beauty Lovers’

Koreatown facility will act as a training hub for the beauty company's hundreds of thousands of independent sales agents

Avon on Monday opened its first in-person, “immersive experience center,” called Studio 1886, at 515 Shatto Place, in Koreatown, according to a press release Tuesday. The 19,000-square-foot space with two floors is being billed by the beauty company as a “playground for beauty lovers.”

“We are very excited about this new chapter and are proud to create a unique space for our Avon community to connect and celebrate their love of Avon,” Paul Yi, Avon’s CEO, said in the release. “Studio 1886 will showcase Avon’s growing commitment to bringing customers and Avon Representatives the top trends and innovation in beauty while driving engagement.”

Studio 1886 will be accessible to both “representatives” — the name given to the company’s hundreds of thousands of independent sales reps — and the community where they can “learn, play, train and rediscover the beauty of Avon.” Key elements of Studio 1886 include a Make Up Bar, The Skincare Zone, and The Break and Lounge Area.

“In addition to products, Studio 1886 will provide a hub of community engagement for learning and education,” according to the release. “Avon Representatives and customers will have direct access to Avon’s top educators for skincare, color, personal care, and more.” The space will also act as a training facility for Avon’s representatives to “learn how to consult with customers, provide solutions, and overall build their Avon businesses.”

There are not currently plans for additional Studio 1886 locations, an Avon spokesperson Tuesday told What Now Los Angeles in an email.
