“Today we can finally say that we’ve found a place where [their dream deli] can come true,” the campaign says. “Belle’s current pop-up-ish location at Cote Est will become Belle’s Bagels & Delicatessen.”

Belle’s Bagels & Delicatessen will be a place where bread is baked fresh daily and the locally smoked fish is sliced fresh.

“An all-day affair that would allow you to get a bagel in the morning, a Reuben for lunch, a nosh in the late afternoon, a bowl of matzo ball soup for and a cocktail or piece of cheesecake to end the night,” the restaurant claims.

After a surprise week-long closure due to a member of its staff testing positive for COVID-19, Belle’s is asking for the community’s help “in rasing funds to both financially recover and to turn 5022 York Blvd. iinto its new, permanent home.”

The closure reportedly cost around $17,500 as the restaurant is facing major costs for a redesign as well.

Belle’s has raised over $11,000 by Friday afternoon as it hopes to reach its goal of $75,000.

“We are asking for your help in raising the money to make the dream come true and help two native Angelenos give back to the city they love in the best way they know how – through food and hospitality,” Rocchio and Schreiber said.

Belle’s Bagels uses the most honest ingredients from Los Angeles and the surrounding area and was started by Rocchio and Schreiber in 2012 by “two dudes that were born and bread in LA.”

According to Instagram, the bagel restaurant opened its new location this week.

“It’s official. Everything is cleaned and sanitized and we are ready to open tomorrow,” Belle’s Bagels posted on Thursday. “Expanded menu, hours, and our bar – Bar Mitzvah at Belle’s – are all coming to 5022 York Blvd. Insanely exciting news and we are close to crossing the finish line, but we need your help to get there. We’ve started a GoFundMe to help us raise the funds necessary to finish this project as well as to help us recover financially from a surprise week-long closure…Can’t wait to serve you all tomorrow, and for years to come.”
