“The countdown is almost over, Orange will open today at 3 p.m.,” Bosscat posted to Instagram last week. “We can’t wait to see everyone at 118 W. Chapman Ave.”

After 71 years in Orange Rod’s Liquor closed last January, but Bosscat Kitchen & Libations plans to pay homage to the local legend by keeping some of the original signage.

Bosscat Kitchen posted an Instagram story showing a timeline of the construction process with new videos of kitchen hoods being put in, signage, and other renovation work posted every week.

The new location a block west of The Plaza in Old Towne Orange marked the third location for the OC-based whiskey bar.

Bosscat Kitchen & Libations can already be found in Newport and Houston and is home to a stash of over 300 whiskey bottles, American comfort food with a contemporary twist, and over-the-top Sunday brunch.

Its mission is to foster an approachable and unique environment as both a bar and restaurant.

Co-Owner Leslie Nguyen could not be reached for comment prior to publication.
