The new cafe will sit in the University Plaza at an unknown date, according to leasing representative Roxanne Klein. Spotless Cafe will move into a 1,227 square-foot space next to Taco Gourmet Simply Fresh. Owner Alan Gross has signed a 10-year lease agreement for the new cafe starting in December 2021, so customers can expect this new cafe to open its doors sometime in early 2022. Gross also owns Spotless Burgers, a vegan, family-owned burger restaurant in Glendora, Upland, and San Gabriel.

There are several previous tenants this new cafe can be replaced, including Subway, PokeCeviche, and Genevieve’s Hair Creation. When the restaurant does open, they will have some competition with other local and national brands, including Starbucks and Zero Degrees, a tea house located within the same plaza. It’s unknown at this time what this brand new coffee shop will offer, but it’s expected to have a few cafe staples such as coffee, tea, and pastries. Knowing Gross’ previous restaurant history, it’s anticipated this cafe will have several vegan and vegetarian options.

Gross first opened Spotless Burgers in Upland, located at 1398 E Foothill Blvd., with his wife Luz in February 2021. The duo quickly expanded throughout Los Angeles County, then began offering Spotless Tacos. Now, Gross gets ready to open a third concept, Spotless Cafe, where he will continue the traditions he helped create at his other restaurants. The duo already has another Spotless Burgers location planned for Victoria Gardens.
