One of Los Angeles’ most iconic hot dog and burger restaurants, Carney’s, is opening a third location in Downtown LA’s Music Center, located at 135 N Grand Ave.
The new restaurant outpost will sit next to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, overlooking Grand Ave., according to Eater LA. Owner Bill Wolfe hopes to open the newest location in Winter 2021 as a cheaper alternative for the Music Center, which has recently undergone $40 million in renovations. The famous area has been preparing to reopen/ add several restaurants within the building. These restaurants include Abernethy’s, Concert Hall Cafe, Kendall’s Brasserie, and The Mullin Wine Bar, all expected to reopen late Fall 2021.
Carney’s first opened at their original location in Hollywood at 8351 Sunset Blvd. in 1975 under John Wolfe Sr. and his wife, Pat Wolfe. Together they created an iconic restaurant that has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, NCIS: Los Angeles, Food Network, and Grand Theft Auto. In 1981, Carney’s decided to expand to their second location in Studio City, located at 12601 Ventura Blvd. When their newest location in Downtown Los Angeles opens, customers can expect to find everything that’s made them so popular, including their spicy polish dogs and chili cheeseburgers.
“Carney’s is a family-owned business that prides itself on serving some of the best hamburgers and hot dogs in Los Angeles, and probably the world,” according to their website. “We use the freshest ingredients on the market and have never skimped on quality. We custom make your order exactly how you like it, which has made us one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. We serve our burgers and dogs from inside a renovated train car which has become a Los Angeles icon. We have been rated a top LA restaurant for many years.”
