The Peruvian restaurant by Ricardo Zarate is shuttering its doors, but the minds behind the upscale eatery have plans for both the space and the concept

Causita — which opened only nine months ago before closing in late 2022 for restaurant repairs — will shutter its doors permanently in lieu of reopening.

“We are so proud of this restaurant and the outstanding team that brought it together, the beautiful combinations of Nikkei Peruvian flavors and bold dishes,” says Chef Ricardo Zarate’s partners in Causita via Eater LA.

 “Ultimately, however, we were unable to generate sufficient weekday volume for such a large space.” 

Fortunately, Chris Feldmeier and David Rosoff — members of the group behind Causita, Bar Moruno, and Rapido plan to resurrect Causita at another location down the road. 

Additionally, the now-former Causita space will take on a new, currently-undisclosed name & concept, and, in the meantime, the dining room and kitchen will be used for pop-ups and other limited events, says Eater
