Cha Cha Matcha is opening a third Los Angeles location in Century City, located at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd. Ste. 1625.

The new location will move into the first floor of the Westfield Century City Shopping Center in Spring 2022, according to Toddrickallen. This will be the seventh overall location, with four stores in New York City, where the company’s first store opened in 2016. Since then, co-founders Conrad Sandelman and Matthew Morton have expanded to Los Angeles with locations in Venice and West Hollywood. The new store will replace Compartes Chocolates, which closed early into the pandemic.

The owners started the company in 2015 as an alternative to artisanal coffee culture and the extreme world of energy drinks. Their journey began by traveling to Japan to learn more about matcha, where they eventually bought their ceremonial grade matcha in bulk. After opening its first location at 373 Broome Street, Business Insider ranked the company as the second-best ice cream in NYC.

Besides opening five more locations in only three years, Cha Cha Matcha also made their ceremonial grade matcha is available for purchase in 2018, followed by Cha Cha in can form the following year. When the new Century City location opens, customers can expect to find all the ice cream, lattes, and iced teas found at their other sites. All of their drinks are made with L-theanine, antioxidants, amino acids, and Oatly to provide smooth energy all day.
