Under plans filed last year by an affiliate of Pacific Theatres Exhibition Corporation owner The Decurion Corporation, the 140,000-square-foot movie theater building, which also includes a gym and yogurt shop, would make way for a trio of light industrial warehouse buildings totaling 273,500 square feet at 9201 Winnetka Avenue.

Plans for the project will be presented for a discussion and possible vote by the neighborhood council in its Thursday meeting, its agenda shows.

Project plans call for two 58,135-square-foot buildings along Prairie Street to the north and a 157,230-square-foot building at the southern end of the project site. Potential uses include manufacturing, studio production, warehousing and other light industrial activities, with the buildings reaching a maximum height of 50 feet, according to planning documents.

The HPA Architecture-designed development would provide 548 parking spaces.

The Decurion Corporation’s project proposal comes after Pacific Theatres announced last year that it wouldn’t be reopening its Chatsworth location, which has been closed since March of 2020. Pacific Theatres filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in June.
