The new restaurant will move into the former home of Slab BBQ, which replaced Doughboys Cafe after it closed in 2017, according to a recent liquor license application. This is the latest from Jocelyn Bulow and Alessandro Iacobelli, the former of whom tells What Now Los Angeles that there is nothing to share at the moment. Despite the lack of information, interested guests will have much to look forward to considering the duo, who have years of experience in the food and beverage industry.

Restarateur Jocelyn Bulow has owned and operated several eateries throughout San Francisco, including Chez Papa, Papito, Chez Maman, Mosaic, and Plouf on Belden Place. Many of these restaurants have been considered some of the top restaurants in the Bay Area for several years. Eventually, the restaurant owner moved to Los Angeles and partnered with Alessandro Iacobelli, also from San Francisco, to open Oste at 8142 W. 3rd Street.

Now, the two are working together once again on Chez Nous. While there are few details regarding this new restaurant, it’s safe to say it is not affiliated with any previous versions of Chez Nous. Last year, a longtime San Diego sandwich shop called Chez Nous closed after 30 years due to constant break-ins, inflation, and fatigue. There was also a Chez Nous in Toluca Lake, which has since turned into Luca’s, an uncommon sushi-bakery hybrid, in 2012, eventually turning into Aeirloom Bakery. Neither restaurant is associated with this new restaurant on Third Street. There’s no timeline for the opening of Chez Hous, which translates to “at our place” in French.
