The newest location will replace Ocho Mexican Grill in a 2,436 square-foot space with 37 interior seats. This location will also feature a 1,650 square-foot patio with an additional 30 seats. With the patio, this Chipotle will have the ability to serve its signature margaritas. The restaurant, which will open from 9 am to 11 pm daily, is expected to open sometime in 2022. Team Director Mark Watkins will be in charge of this location, along with the other Los Angeles locations.

Chipotle Mexican Grill has several locations throughout Los Angeles. The closest location to the new downtown spot is less than a mile away at 1122 W. 6th St. When the newest location opens, customers can expect to find customizable bowls, burritos, and tacos.

This week, the company pledged to cut carbon emissions in half by 2030, joining other companies taking the responsibility upon themselves, following the recent climate change conference in Glasgow. Chipotle will take its nearly 3,000 locations and apply four carbon-intensive functions to meet this goal. This includes identifying more sustainable designs of its buildings, leveraging partners and innovations to reduce emissions associated with transportation and warehousing, pursuing closed-loop packaging solutions, and adding better ingredients within its food-supply chain.

“We are committed to continuous improvement and will actively do our part to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and protect the planet,” said Laurie Schalow, Chipotle’s chief corporate affairs & food safety officer, in a statement. “We are passionate about Cultivating a Better World, and as a company with nearly 3,000 restaurants and approximately 95,000 employees, we have a responsibility to drive meaningful change.”
