Earlier this year, What Now Los Angeles reported the chicken wing chain was expanding north from its original location in San Diego. These were all designated for Orange County coming in the next five years. Before that, news broke that the restaurant was opening its first Los Angeles location in Northridge. Now, the restaurant chain is getting ready to replace Good Wok in Van Nuys in a 1,600 square-foot space at an unknown date. This second location, owned by Franchisee Kevin Davis. will be a little closer to Downtown Los Angeles.

Epics Wings started in San Diego in 1982 under the name Wings N’ Things. The restaurant began to offer free samples outside of their restaurant when customers were reluctant to try their food. Then, in 2018, the company decided to shift entirely with three big moves, the first being an official name change to Epic Wings. Then, the company hired a new president, Rob Street, who previously worked as the COO of Scooter’s and as Director of Strategic Development with Starbucks Coffee.

The experience translated well with the company, and they started to expand throughout Southern California and Arizona. The last significant change the company made was to launch a franchising program. This has led the company to open 27 locations, not including any of the locations in the works. This new Epics Wings has signed a 15-year lease agreement for this location

“We never compromise on the taste and quality of our food by using only the freshest ingredients,” according to their website. “Our best-selling tenderloin strips and wings are never frozen, breadsticks are made from scratch daily, and our sauces and dips are homemade. You will never find a freezer, heat lamp, or microwave at any of our locations, so you can trust that you are getting your food made to order every time. It is the tradition of unwavering quality since 1982 that our customers have grown to love and why we have been named best wings time and time again.”

CORRECTION: The previous article statds the franchisee was unknown. The franchisee of this new Epic Wings will be Kevin Davis.
