This is the company’s sixth Los Angeles location, with a site also in Saudi Arabia. Only three other locations are full-fledged restaurants, with the Koreantown and Lincoln Heights sites focusing on pickup and delivery. The new Marina del Rey space was once the home of burger joint Simmzy’s. For anyone who has never heard of this place, check it out when you’re hungry, as many of the entrees are stacked with hearty toppings like mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, onion rings, sliders, and more.

On top of these delicious entrees, the restaurant, founded by Salvatore Capek (Fat Sal), Josh Stone, and actor Jerry Ferrara, also features vegan and vegetarian options. One such option is the vegan fat falafel, with chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh dill, extra virgin olive oil, fries, hummus, and tzatziki sauce on a hero. To top it all off, Fat Sal’s offers fat shakes with toppings and flavors as crazy as the sandwiches.

For anyone who wants to challenge their stomach capacity, the restaurant offers two different food challenges. The first, big fat fatty, is a 27-inch garlic sandwich topped with cheesesteak, cheeseburgers, pastrami, chicken fingers, crisp bacon, mozzarella sticks, fried eggs, fries, onion rings, chili, marinara, and Fat sauce. On the other hand, the big fat fat shake features 60 scoops of ice cream, cake, cookies, candies, and two cans of whipped cream.

Anyone who can eat the sandwich in less than 40 minutes or the milkshake in less than 10 minutes will not have to pay $49.99 or $99.99 (respectively) and will have the opportunity to create and name their very own fat sandwich/fat shake.
