New French-Californian restaurant and lounge LOULOU is set to open a rooftop spot in the popular shopping center this summer.

Owner Erik Chol, also Owner and CEO of Globe Theatre, said he was attracted to Santa Monica for several reasons.

“Santa Monica is an iconic place for all the Californian way of life,” he said. “We’re close to the end of the legendary Road 66 and the Santa Monica Pier offering one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world every day.”

Chol hopes to open this summer, “maybe in July,” he said.

Opening in Santa Monica Place, a coastal and open-air shopping experience that includes Nordstrom, Uniqlo, Nike, Tesla, True Food Kitchen, The Cheesecake Factory, the new restaurant will be right off the beach.

“Located on the top of the iconic Santa Monica Place, LOULOU, will be a French-Californian restaurant and lounge that delights beyond indulgence,” Chol said.

He said the restaurant will be authentic and inspired by the French Riviera’s lifestyle.
