The new space will be a place where anyone can come and enjoy a board game while enjoying some food or a drink. Owners George and Angharad Caceres tell What Now Los Angeles he hopes to have a soft open by the end of the year and aims to have the grand opening in January 2022. The Caceres’s says the cafe and board room is modeled after similar businesses around the country, such as The Board and Brew in Philadelphia and Meeples in Seattle.

On one side of the building, a library of board games and card games will be available for customers to use and purchase while they visit. Gamers of all kinds can find a game they will enjoy, from Settlers of Catan and Splendor to Dungeons and Dragons and Magic. On the other side, customers can expect a sit-down cafe with plenty of space to play games.

To better the experience, Caceres says the cafe will offer a variety of food, such as panini sandwiches, salads, egg breakfast foods, crepes, and aebleskiver. As for drinks, a variety of teas, coffees, and shakes will be offered at this “cafe gamery” once it opens. Eventually, the restaurant hopes to receive a permit to serve beer and wine at this location.

The cafe will be split into an indoor and small outdoor dining section. The indoor 998 square-foot dining area will have 12 seats. Outside will have an additional 12 seats on its 242 square-foot dining area. On the other side of Game N’ Grounds, customers can find an additional 24 seats in a 1,232 square-foot space.
