The new location will move into the former home of dessert staple Milk, which has sat in that spot for 15 years. Owners Alessandro and Stephanie Bonaventura expect to open the new Beverly Boulevard location by late March 2022, possibly early April 2022, according to Eater LA. The duo visited Los Angeles and fell in love, but realized the city lacked gelato stores compared to Italy, Alessandro’s home country. Alessandro returned to Italy and received a master’s from the Gelato University in Bologna.

In 2012 Alessandro and Stephanie opened their first Gelato store called “Gelato Lounge” in Marina del Rey, followed by the second location in 2014 in Manhattan Beach. Both stores were a huge success and with their excellent quality, eventually being featured on Food Network. While living in Los Angeles, the duo discovered many more creative food trends they wanted to incorporate with their authentic homemade gelato. In August 2016, the Manhattan Beach store was remodeled and upgraded with the concept.

There’s a good reason the company has made such a splash in Los Angeles. Their gelato is made fresh daily in-store using fresh and organic local produce, the finest ingredients imported from Italy, and all-natural and organic dairy. They use this freshly made gelato to serve by itself and create unique dishes. One of which is the geladough, where they fill a doughnut, cinnamon bun, or croissant with their gelato. Another interesting menu item is their spaghetti-gelato sundae. To top it off, customers can also find gelato drinks, gelato cakes, and coffee.
