The Texas-inspired kitchen hailing from SoCal is helmed by Brianna Valdez, a Texas native who opened HomeState with the dream of sharing her Texas identity through food and hospitality.

Today, Valdez has five HomeState locations in Hollywood, Highland Park, Playa Vista, Pasadena, and Sherman Oaks.

It’s currently unclear if the incoming location is meant to replace an existing store or become an addition to Valdez’s collection.

HomeState offers simple yet satisfying selections of “Texas folk remedies” like Frito pies (Picadillo or black beans, cheddar, lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, pickled jalapeños, and pickled red onions all served steaming right in the bag), migas (scrambled eggs, crispy corn strips, onions, cheese, avocado, and chorizo or shredded brisket), and, of course, queso.
