“Third Street and Santa Monica, you can’t get a better location than that,” he said. “It’s a fantastic corner to be on.”

Already found in Woodland Hills and Huntington Beach, the location in Santa Monica will be HQ Gastropub’s largest to date.

With demolition complete, Matters said the multi-million dollar construction project will see four floors built for the new space. The basement level will be for private events, the ground floor will be for the restaurant, a mezzanine will house Graceland Speakeasy, and the top floor will be a rooftop bar.

A gastropub is described as a pub, bar, or tavern that also offers high-quality meals. HQ Gastropub considers itself a prohibition-era drink parlor with cutting-edge technology.

“Our menu is global cuisine. We serve everything from sushi to chicken pot pie,” Matters explained.

The menu features breakfast, sushi, appetizers, classic entrees, and more, as the goal of HQ Gastropub is to pair high-quality food, beer, wine, spirits, and music with eclectic and visually-inspiring decor.
