In an ironic twist, the restaurant is set to open in space previously occupied by Johnny Rockets, at 7502 Melrose Ave.

But NOMOO isn’t just replacing any old Johnny Rockets—it was the restaurant chain’s first Johnny Rockets.

Johnny Rockets closed its Melrose doors in 2015 leaving a long-vacant red and white building to gather dust.

Now NOMOO will open in the space soon serving “new American burgers,” namely options like the vegan-friendly Impossible Burger.

While an exact opening timeline has not yet been confirmed, ownership is currently seeking a General Manager for the new restaurant, according to an advertisement published earlier this week.

“NOMOO, a plant-based diner concept, is opening soon in one of the most iconic locations in Los Angeles,” according to the advert.

“We are seeking a superstar GM who shares our vision and passion for food.”

The right candidate would have over five years of experience managing restaurants and “preferably a love for plant-based food.”

Additional details are scarce.

A NOMOO website and Facebook page are merely acting as placeholders for the time being.
