Takashi Sada’s restaurant Japonica has one location opened up on 1304 1/2 S. Pacific Coast Highway, where its signature Sada Smoked Soy Sauce is served alongside Sushi/Izakaya Japanese fare. Takashi and their partner Chika opened the Izakaya restaurant in 2002. According to the Japonica website, “Izakaya” is a casual Japanese restaurant where you can share a variety of dishes among friends. The concept of Japonica also came from Sada’s strong passion for trying out many different kinds of Sake around Osaka, Japan — where they grew up.

Currently, Japonica has a limited menu “to maximize our productivity and to satisfy your demand as much as we can under these circumstances,” but Sada is working to enhance the menu daily.
