This will be the company’s eighth location, moving into the former home of PostalAnnex+ at an unknown date, according to Toddrickallen. Kai Ramen, founded by Japanese Chef Nishimura, who has more than 20 years of experience in ramen culinary skills, also has a location coming to Koreatown, located at 3450 W 6th St #105. This is a massive accomplishment for Chef Nishimura, who spent 20 years working in his family’s restaurant in Mountain View before moving to Los Angeles.

When the new location opens, guests can expect a variety of classic Japanese dishes with a heavy emphasis on ramen. On top of the chef’s specialty ramen, Kai Ramen offers pork, chicken, and vegan broth, with several additional toppings. If ramen isn’t what you’re looking for, there are plenty of appetizers, such as pork steam buns and sesame fried chicken, plus several vegan appetizers, salads, rice bowls, sushi rolls, beverages, and desserts. For larger gathers, the company offers sushi catering with options of 40, 60, and 70 rolls.

“From the first bite, it is clear how special Kai Ramen is,” according to the company’s website. “What separates Kai Ramen from all other Ramen restaurants is the attention to detail and the dedication to perfection. The soup at Kai Ramen is always freshly produced in-house and contains no instant packaged soup as it ruins the freshness that you can easily taste. It has been the life ambition of Chef Nishimura to offer authentic Japanese taste and continuously improve it.”
