The high-profile actor/ comedian Kevin Hart is making steps towards opening his first fast-food restaurant in Hollywood, located at 6800 W Sunset Blvd.
The new restaurant, called Hart House, will feature vegan fast-food alternatives, with everything being entirely plant-based. On top of the healthy options, president Glen Helton will be environmentally conscious, including their building materials. This is the flagship restaurant for the actor/ comedian, and he plans on building more in the future, according to a case filing for the restaurant submitted to the City of Los Angeles.
Hart House will sit within a 2,129 square-foot space with a drive-through and a total of 18 parking spots. The fast-food restaurant will be open daily from 7 am to 2 am. These hours were proposed to serve breakfast, although there are no plans for early-morning food. The space was used as a Mcdonald’s since 1995 before being converted to a flower shop in 2015. The building has been vacant since 2019, and there is no set opening date for the restaurant.
On top of the healthy alternatives and environmental consciousness, the restaurant is also taking significant consideration for its neighbors, including Hollywood High School. The speaker box at the drive-through will self-adjust based on ambient noise levels. Hart House will also construct a 10-foot wall to separate residents from noise. Neighbors attempted to cap the restaurant’s hours at 10 pm, but Hart House argued it is unfair to have In-n-Out nearby that stays open until 2/3 am.
