The company’s second location is set to move into the former home of Chinese Friends Restaurant in the Mandarin Plaza, according to a recently approved case from the Los Angeles City Planning Department. La Sorted’s new site will be 969 square feet, offering 30 indoor seats and occasional live entertainment, according to document details. While there will be no minimum age for entry, the new restaurant will have alcohol, which is only available when purchasing food. This opening has no timeline.

This is a massive accomplishment for the owner, Tommy Brockert, who worked in his event photography business when the pandemic hit. Since COVID effectively shut down his business operations, he decided to go on to the next thing and make the best out of his portable OONI oven. As a result, he launched La Sorted’s as a pop-up and sold his delicious pizza from a renovated 1966 Ford Econoline, dubbed the “Pie Machine.” Eventually, the company landed at its current site in Silverlake.

When the new Chinatown location opens later this year, possibly early next year, customers can expect a variety of starters, including different fries, wings, chips, and more. La Sorted’s menu also features an array of salads, focaccia sandwiches, and hoagies, all made with the freshest ingredients. As for the star of the show, the pizza, customers will have plenty of toppings to choose from and can purchase the product as a whole or by the slice.
