Luke’s was founded by third-generation lobsterman Luke Holden. He started the business as a tiny lobster roll shack in New York City. Today, he and his partner, Ben Conniff, have built up the business to shacks in 10 U.S. states, Japan and Singapore.

“In 2013, the Luke’s team opened its own seafood purchasing and production business in Saco, Maine…In 2018, Luke’s expanded into branded grocery, launching its flash-frozen lobster meat, tails, and seafood meals in grocery stores around the country. [In 2020] Luke’s launched its online market, to bring seafood direct from Maine to doorsteps around the country,” says their website.

Luke’s menu includes a variety of lobster rolls, crab rolls, and shrimp rolls; appetizers like fried pickles, steamed clams, and fried haddock bites; soups; salads; and sides.

An opening date for the Santa Monica location has not yet been announced.
