The new store will sit on the ground floor of the upcoming HollyHill Apartments in Summer 2022, according to the website. Mendocino Farms will join six other retailers in the new 202-unit apartment complex, which will open later this year. This is the second new location coming to the area, joining a store coming to Torrance likely around the same time. When this location opens, likely towards the end of the year, it will be the 19th location in Los Angeles County and 39th in California.

Mendocino Farms Sandwich Market was founded by husband-and-wife Mario Del Pero and Ellen Chen in 2003. The duo started in Bunker Hills in 2005 before expanding throughout California and Texas. With this location, CEO Kevin Miles hopes to have 48 locations by the end of the year, including a first Atlanta location coming to Buckhead in late-2022.

The health-driven chain takes pride in offering fresh ingredients through seasonal menus throughout the year. Mendocino’s, often called Mendo Farms, uses freshly baked bread from its local baking partners while serving turkey that is humanely raised on Pitman Famils Farms without any hormones or antibiotics. To appeal to different dietary restrictions, the company has several vegetarian and vegan options, with gluten-free requests.
