The fast-casual sandwich shop will replace Daphne’s in the first half of 2022. Co-founded by husband-and-wife Mario Del Pero and Ellen Chen in 2003, the family-owned business provides delicious food while supporting the local food economy. The duo opened their first store on Bunker Hill in 2005. Since then, the company has opened in neighborhoods across Southern California. The newest Mendocino Farms Sandwich Market will become the 18th location in Los Angeles County and 45th overall, including a few in Texas.

All locations feature some of the freshest ingredients and offer seasonal menus throughout the year. The company partners with baking partners in California in Texas to provide fresh loaves of bread daily. Finally, they serve turkey that is humanely raised on Pitman Famils Farms without any hormones or antibiotics. The company also has several vegetarian and vegan options, with gluten-free requests.

The restaurant chain offers several healthy options through their stores and catering. Several highly stacked sandwiches and rich salads fill the menu. Recently, they’ve introduced new bowls such as the chimichurri steak and shishito bowl. Mendocino Farms offers half sandwich combos and kids menus for those not so hungry or with a smaller child.

“At Mendocino Farms, we know that our guests are very consciously choosing us not only because our food is delicious, but because we go out of our way to make our sandwiches and salads from scratch using the highest quality ingredients, often source,” according to their website. “We know many of our guests have been waiting patiently for us to calculate our nutritional information. We have always openly shared our ingredient lists, and we are happy that we are now able to add calorie information and provide even more transparency surrounding our food.”
