The new restaurant and bar will feature a modern contemporary California twist on Mexican cuisine from Michelin-starred Chef Joshua Gil. He and co-owner Matthew Egan have created an in-depth ‘farm to bar’ beverage program backed by a robust collection of Mexican spirits, notably mezcal and tequila. The restaurant’s curated cocktail program will be complemented by a Mexican wine bar. As for food, MÍRAME aims to provide an experience that reflects the rich culinary history of California and Mexico.

Chef Gil has made a name for himself for his ever-changing, ingredient-driven menu that embraces regional Mexican flavors. As the sister restaurant of MÍRAME, customers can expect the highest level of food from its brunch, lunch, and dinner menu that proudly displays the restaurant’s love for Mexico’s rich heritage, bold flavors, and colorful culture. The menu at the Beverly Hills sister restaurant is highlighted by Chef Joshua Gil’s use of the purest, locally sourced ingredients and produce.

It’s unclear exactly when the new restaurant is expected to open. Owners are currently looking to fill its crew, including its general manager. Although Chef Gil could not be reached for further comment, MÍRATE will likely open before the end of the year. When it does open, it will move into the heart of Los Feliz, a few steps away from Barnsdall Art Park. The restaurant will become a select upscale Mexican restaurant, having to only compete on Vermont Avenue with Tacos Tu Madre, Machos Tacos, and Los Drunken Tacos.
