New Cantina Cafe Will Absorb Thrift Store and Bar Space In Boyle Heights

The owner of Cantina Cafe filed for licenses that detail expansion of existing properties, culminating in 2,524 square-feet that will serve a wide selection of drinks

It seems that Boyle Heights is getting a new restaurant and bar in the location of the previous Little Bit of Everything thrift store, which used to be Villalobos Appliances, which has closed its doors. Appearing to be doing business as ‘Cantina Cafe,’ this establishment will be led by Liliana Ruth Nava-Cejudo at 3717 Whittier Blvd, according to a liquor license filing obtained by What Now Los Angeles (WNLA).

Cantina Cafe will also undergo renovations, as per additional documentation in the form of floor plans, which detail a three tenant space occupancy, covering a total of 2,524 square-foot interior space. The work done will improve the overall kitchen area and increase the number of seats to a total of 64. Both the liquor license and the zoning docs reveal plans to provide an entertainment aspect. Patrons of all ages are allowed to attend Cantina Cafe and the hours of operation are noon until 2 am. The liquor application states that a selection of wine would be available, some of which above 16% alcohol.

The Cantina Cafe will also be absorbing and converting the Olmos Bar on the adjacent property. WNLA reached out to Nava-Cejudo who has not yet commented at press time.
