De Leon, who has spent the previous 12 years at various Marriott Hotels, focuses on connecting local, regional and traveling guests from around the country and beyond with the bounty of fresh, sustainable, flavorful fare prepared with products sourced locally. De Leon captures all things Long Beach, and local sustainable seafood is a priority. Menus feature fruits and vegetables from California farmers and offer local brewery selections on tap, outstanding California wines and seasonal cocktails and mocktails composed of fresh local herbs and juices.

“Our menus are inspired by the charm and melting pot of diversity and cultures of Long Beach. We salute our positive connections, regional partnerships and the spirit of the city at Local Current,” said De Leon in a statement.

Breakfast menu highlights include Straus Farms Organic Yogurt Parfait, Mascarpone Stuffed French Toast, Smoked Salmon and Crab Benedict. The all-day menu offers Baja Shrimp Ceviche, Farmers Market Bowl, Cali Wedge, handhelds such as Local Yellowtail Fish Tacos, Cauliflower Steak, Seasonal Local Catch and Pistachio Cheesecake. Local Current signature cocktails include Local Obsession with Don Julio Blanco Tequila, fresh watermelon juice, watermelon agave shrub and pickled watermelon rind; Liquid Vacation with Lyre’s Amaretti, fresh lime juice, and honey pineapple juice foam; and Bonvoy Bliss with Amaro Angelino, grapefruit bitters, soda water and dehydrated grapefruit.

The contemporary design, spearheaded by Looney & Associates LLC, features coastal inspired elements and a soothing, warm color scheme – seamlessly connecting the Bar and Lounge with the exciting vibe of the expansive Terrace Patio.

The coastal-inspired atmosphere pleases with warm, light and airy décor and includes a high ceiling with twinkling fairy lights, floor-to-ceiling windows, blue grey upholstered seats at high-top tables in the Bar, handsome curved blue grey upholstered chairs in the Lounge, marblelike unclothed tables and soft colored tiled floors. The sprawling Patio Terrace is furnished with grey blue chairs and couch seating with colorful throw pillows. There are grey blue umbrellas and palm trees for shade.

Local Current is open seven days a week. Breakfast is served from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. All-day dining is served from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Live entertainment is featured on Friday evenings.

Reservations and more information are available at OpenTable.

Local Current is located at 111. E. Ocean Boulevard, Long Beach, CA 90802.
