The highly-respected and YouTube famous restaurant expects to open sometime in 2023, according to Eater LA. The new Sushi Noz will be built in Kyoto and then broken down, transported, and rebuilt in Century City. Founders Nozomu Abe and brothers David and Joshua Foulquier opened the original New York location to transport diners to Japan with an authentic yet minimalistic interior. Both the original and new Los Angeles locations are designed by Sankakuya, which specializes in tea house-style construction.

When the new and highly anticipated restaurant opens, limited guests will enjoy traditional Edo-style sushi. Both locations feature two separate counters made with 200-year-old hinoki wood. The 10-seat counter will only serve nigiri at around $225 a person, while the eight-seat counter has a complete tasting priced at $395 in New York. All of the seafood is imported from Tokyo’s Toyosu Fish Market.

Sushi Noz takes pride in being more than just a restaurant, but a complete experience. In addition to the Japanese-inspired interior, the restaurant will have elements of Kabuki theater and sleek design-minded dining space. Over 1,000 pieces of wood from Japan were used to build the minimalist space.

“It’s our hope that Angelenos, whose love of sushi runs deep, will appreciate what we are going for even though LA is already home to so many great sushi restaurants,” Foulquier told Eater LA.
