The new 3,800 square-foot location will move into the newest retail development called Nash Street Exchange. Although the newly developed 7.34-acre shopping center, which so far includes a new Raising Cane’s and a Torrance Memorial Hospital, first aimed for a 2021 Q3 open, plans have been delayed. The new Panera Bread will likely open by Winter 2021. The shopping center still has three other spaces available to lease within its 75,000 square feet of space.

The next closest Panera Bread to this new location is Westchester and Redondo Beach. There are dozens of other locations throughout Los Angeles County, but none in the El Segundo neighborhood. The new company has yet to add this new branch to their website’s list of locations. Once the restaurant does open, customers can expect to find all the classic dishes found at their locations across the country.

Recently, Panera Bread became the first fast-casual restaurant chain to commit to climate positivity by 2050. The company has created a plan similar to The Paris Agreement timeline to remove more carbon from the atmosphere. Panera Bread has also set three main goals to achieve by 2025: Transition their bakery and cafe menu to be composed of 60 percent Cool Food Meals; update all of their packagings to be 100 percent recyclable, reusable, and compostable; and commit 50 percent of its national operations to use renewable energy.
