Pijja Palace To Serve Kashmiri Spaghettios, Indian-Style Slurpees in Silver Lake Early-2020

The restaurant will likely debut in the spring or early summer 2020, Naran in a telephone interview Friday told What Now Los Angeles.

Pijja Palace will serve “refined Indian bar food,” at 2703 W. Sunset Blvd., coupled with elements fueled by Naran’s dry sense of humor.

“The restaurant’s name is a tongue-in-cheek kind of thing,” Naran said.

“We’re making fun of the way Indian people say ‘pizza’ and how ‘palace’ is at the end of the name of every business they open.”

Pijja Palace’s menu will consist of “classic American bar fare through an Indian lens.”

For example, there will be Kashmiri Spaghettios, pizza topped with lamb bacon, and wings marinated tandoori-style.

On the beverage side of things, expect “a ton of beer since it is a sports bar,” plus a “soda-jerk component” and Indian Slurpees.

“We all have heard the 7-Eleven Slurpee joke,” Naran said.

“Our Slurpee program will be a play on that, but Indian-style with flavors like mango.”

There will also be soft-serve ice cream for dessert and the interior is meant to “feel like it was designed by Nike or Addidas.”

“It will be chill.”

Demolition is underway at the space, most recently home to Happy Foot/Sad Foot Clinic and its buzzworthy rotating sign.

The Comfort Inn-anchored center where Pijja Palace will be housed is owned by Naran’s father Dipak Patel.

“You may not be able to tell by looking at this, but somewhere in here is my dream,” Naran posted to his personal Instagram page at the start of construction.

“So pumped that the ball is finally rolling on this project. I’ve been grinding big time and I’m eager to make my mark on this industry and on Indian food.”
