The exact opening date and address of the company’s first West Coast store are unknown. The new store will likely open by the end of the year, along with two other locations coming to Washington D.C. and Aventura, FL. Plum Market currently has four Michigan locations and one store in Chicago, although that one will close this summer. Brothers Matthew and Marc Jonna first launched the grocery store in 2007 and have expanded the concept with seven Plum Market Kitchens and 12 Plum Market food services.
Hollywood is a perfect location for the company’s California debut. The gourmet grocery store aims to move into markets with an average household income higher than $125,000, 40% of the population within 1-mile holds a bachelor’s degree, and be within a 1-mile radius of 15,000 people. No matter where this new location ends in Hollywood, these qualifications will likely be met. On top of that, Hollywood, despite being considered a lavish neighborhood, only has a handful of gourmet grocery stores, including Gelson’s and Erewhon Market.
When the new Plum Market opens, customers can expect the best selections of all-natural, organic, local, and specialty items in a full-service shopping experience. Like all other locations, this new market will feature a peak season produce section, plenty of alcohol in the wine, beer, and spirit department, all-natural meats and seafood, artisan cheese and deli, and a bakery and kitchen. Additionally, guests can find an apothecary and a floral section.
