Randy’s Donuts To Replace The Coffee Bean Tea Leaf In Santa Monica

Plus the planned Torrance outpost sets a December 1 opening timeline

As Randy’s Donuts continues its expansion throughout SoCal mostly by way of franchising, the company on Tuesday announced Santa Monica is next up for a location of the growing chain. Randy’s Donuts has secured space, at 829 Wilshire Blvd, formerly occupied by The Coffee Bean Tea Leaf. News of the plans for Santa Monica arrives on the heels of What Now Los Angeles uncovering an in-the-works Torrance outpost which now has an opening timeline — December 1, 2020.

“In a year filled with so much uncertainty and unprecedented challenges to our economy, we are fortunate to bring Randy’s Donuts to new parts of Southern California and expand our footprint in the South Bay — keeping us in line with our local expansion strategy,” Mark Kelegian, president of Randy’s Donuts, said in a press release. “We’re proud to be in a position to join communities who love their donuts and coffee as much as we do, and create new jobs that can help impact our local economy in a time when unemployment levels are unfortunately high.”

Reps for Randy’s Donuts on Tuesday said the Santa Monica location is expected to debut in early spring 2021 and will be company owned. As for Torrance, the grand opening will take place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, where all guests receive a free raised glazed donut from 6 a.m to 12 p.m. noon, and guests who follow Randy’s Donuts on Instagram will receive a free raised glazed donut from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. A ceremonial ribbon cutting will be held at 11 a.m.

At all Randy’s Donuts locations, guests can find over 60 different varieties of classic, deluxe, fancy, and premium donuts mostly priced under $2, along with Randy’s Rounds (Randy’s Donuts much larger version of a donut hole). On the beverage side of things, Randy Donuts serves a variety of coffee blends, espressos, cold brew, iced drinks, and frappes powered by Randy’s Roast — Randy’s Donuts propriety coffee roaster blend — or Jones Coffee Roasters, exclusively at the Pasadena location.

Randy’s Donuts is currently hiring at all five locations in the greater Los Angeles area: Inglewood, Century City, El Segundo, Downey, and Pasadena. Job openings for Costa Mesa to be announced at a later date. Applicants can email in their resumes.
