A liquor license was issued recently for the forthcoming steakhouse.

Instagram-famous chef Nusret Gökçe is set on opening his Beverly Hills steakhouse, Nusr-Et, at 184 N. Canon Drive, the previous location of the Citizen restaurant. As first reported by Eater LA, Gökçe’s restaurant is likely to open “sometime in late 2020 or, more likely, into 2021,” having now been issued a liquor license for Nusr-et.

Turkish butcher and chef Gökçe is popularly known around the world as “Salt Bae,” a moniker that arose after his flamboyant seasoning technique became a viral meme in 2017. He has opened restaurants in Istanbul, Dubai, Miami, and New York. In June of 2018, Eater LA reported that Gökçe intended to open a restaurant in the Arts District section of Downtown Los Angeles, but those plans never materialized.

What Now Los Angeles has reached out to Gökçe for comment and will update this article when more information is provided.
