Sunset is Grater Grilled Cheese’s largest location by square footage to date. The outfit has two brick and mortars in its native San Diego and one in both Irvine and Huntington Beach. The Sunset restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m and a grand-opening celebration is scheduled for Sunday, May 15.

Grater Grilled Cheese, which first opened as a food truck in 2015 in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego by the Kanarek family, specializes in freshly-made gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches using only all-natural, unprocessed cheese. The basic sandwich, which is served on sourdough bread, includes five cheeses: Colby, Swiss, Monterey, provolone, and cheddar. Other sandwiches on the menu include the Philly Grilled Cheese, Lobster Grilled Cheese and Veggie Grilled Cheese.

Consumers always have a build-your-own option for the long-standing comfort food with the ability to choose their bread (sourdough, whole grain, gluten-free), spread (i.e. pale ale beer chipotle aioli, pesto aioli, and sriracha), and add-ons (i.e. caramelized onions, kettle chips, pastrami).

Grater Grilled Cheese’s menu includes non-grilled cheese options as well, including various loaded mac ‘n cheese dishes, loaded fries, hamburgers and salads. The famed Loaded S’mores Sweet Potato Fries is a unique dessert that many find hard to pass up.

Grater Grilled Cheese Hollywood features a fun, playful atmosphere with cheesy quotes on the walls such as “Mo Cheddar Mo Better” and “Life is too short for fake cheese, butter or people”. It is located two miles from Hollywood Bowl, five miles from The Grove and seven miles from Crypto.com Arena.
