Starbucks is opening a new Echo Park storefront.

The global coffee chain is set to replace the now-shuttered KFC/Taco Bell, on the corner of Glendale Blvd and Montana St., at 1400 Glendale Blvd.

Several permit applications last week were issued by the City of Los Angeles for the conversion project to commence, namely calling for “TI” or “tenant improvements” to the former joint fast food standalone building.

KDC Construction, the project’s general contractor, confirmed the plans in a telephone conversation with What Now Los Angeles Wednesday, but would not comment on specifics due to client confidentiality.
