The vegan-friendly pizzeria, at 3903 Sunset Blvd, replaced Mixed Company in February in a prime corner space adjacent Black Cat.

But the closure doesn’t sound permanent, according to a statement provided to What Now Los Angeles Thursday.

“California Sun will be closed until further notice, as we are exploring new ways to sustainably serve the Silverlake community,” a spokesperson shared in an email when pressed for comment.

“We’re currently looking at several possible opportunities for the space, which we will make public once we are able. Thank you to all the pizza lovers out there for the support, and we look forward to welcoming you in once more very soon!”

ABC is no stranger to the L.A. hospitality scene.

The company operates a variety of other concepts including Brennan’s, Library Bar, and Mohawk Bend.

Its California Sun eatery was just starting to gain traction with its Detroit-style personal-pan pizzas, New York-style pies, and salads, with vegan, gluten-free, paleo, and keto options.

California Sun was also home to over 100 beers, including 14 on draft produced by ABC’s brewpub group New Originals Breweries, wine, and craft sodas.
