Sola, which rents salon suites to independent beauty professionals, will replace the now-shuttered Smith and Cohen Deli, on the ground level of a four-story office midrise, at 10351 Santa Monica Blvd.

JLL brokered the deal and Madison Partners is handling office leasing, including for the marque, top floor tenant space.

The City of Los Angeles last week issued the necessary permitting to start the demolition process in the space, the first step toward converting what was once a restaurant, into the forthcoming Sola Salon Studios.

Construction officially began on January 31, 2020.

Founded by Stratton Smith and Matt Briger, Sola Salon Studios provides move-in ready salon studios, alongside educational resources, and support tools to “empower beauty professionals to live their dreams and elevate their careers.”

It’s unclear how many suites the Westwood location will house, but the space is nearly 8,000-square-feet.

Sola did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday by What Now Los Angeles.
