The company’s second location is set to move into the former home of Plancha Latin Kitchen near the LBX Long Beach Exchange Retail shopping mall, according to a recent liquor license application. Co-owners Tobi Miller and Richard Gottlieb opened the ramen and Japanese grill restaurant a few years ago and are already to expand with a new location, offering the same delicious food and customer service as its flagship site at 360 Orange St. The restaurant will open in late fall.

When the new Sosogu Ramen & Japanese BBQ location, likely later this year, customers can expect a menu highlighting its signature craft ramen, which is made with scratch noodles, rich broth, tender braised pork belly, or savory chicken chashu, a variety of fresh vegetable toppings, and a perfectly cooked egg. The restaurant also offers vegan ramen options, rice bowls, small plates, and bao buns, a great accompaniment to the Japanese BBQ experience. In addition, Sosogu Ramen & Japanese BBQ also has a full bar with draft beer, sake, and cocktails made using Japanese spirits.

“At Sosogu, our menu is constantly evolving, as we are always experimenting with new flavors and ingredients to bring you the most exciting and satisfying ramen experience,” according to the company’s website. “Our chefs take pride in using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients in all of our dishes. Sosogu is a Japanese word meaning pour it up, which we do daily in our kitchen & bar! Our cozy yet modern atmosphere makes for the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a delicious bowl of ramen or a fun JBBQ experience with friends and family.”
