In a world that is being taken over by different chicken variation restaurants, this one will have a little bit of everything. Owner Erika De La Teja tells What Now Los Angeles she plans to have two or three different styles of chicken, such as Nashville hot, Kentucky fried, or grilled. Flipping Byrds will also serve a variation of vegan/ vegetarian chicken. Teja says she hopes to open the new restaurant in 30 to 60 days, so long everything goes to plan.

This restaurant, which will be moving into the former home of Salvadorian restaurant Casa Martinez, has been in the works for quite some time, but the pandemic delayed plans. Because of this, Teja says she expects to open the restaurant without a liquor license. Despite this, Teja hopes to one day sell alcohol from this restaurant.

When the restaurant does open, it should find great success in its area due to the limited competition nearby. The surrounding area features several chain restaurants, mainly El Pollo Loco and Church’s Chicken. Teja will use her experience with previous restaurants to help build this one into a stand-out chicken shop in West Gate.
