Duck Donuts next week will start slinging its made-to-order doughnuts when it opens inside SteelCraft, a Long Beach-based “outdoor urban eatery” built with repurposed shipping containers. Owned by Minal Mehta and Gary Kopel, the shop, at 12900 S Euclid Street in Garden Grove, will open for business Friday, February 12 at 7:00 a.m., according to a press release. It will be the third Duck Donuts in Orange County.

“As our third donut shop in California, and our first shipping container model within the franchise, we are excited to expand our reach to serve warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts further inland,” Kopel said in a prepared statement. “We’re looking forward to joining the list of SteelCraft vendors, giving us the opportunity to unite with other local eateries in this unique dining space.”
In addition to donuts, Duck Donuts will serve coffee, donut breakfast sandwiches, and made-to-order milkshakes and donut sundaes featuring Thrifty vanilla ice cream. The shop will also offer a vegan cake-based donut option. Donuts at this location will be made fresh to order seven days a week, Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Duck Donuts specializes in create-your-own donut combinations by giving guests a variety of coatings, toppings, and drizzles to choose from such as chocolate icing with sprinkles and more adventurous creations such as maple icing with bacon. The family-friendly stores offer a viewing area where children and adults alike can watch their donuts being made.
SteelCraft Garden Grove is home to a variety of vendors including the newish Wilson Creek Winery, Barrio, and The Penalty Box. Other SteelCraft locations are in Long Beach and Bellflower, each with its own tenant lineup.
