This Japanese-Taiwanese bakery is taking on the challenge of soothing our insatiable appetite for Asian pastries. With two bakeries in New Jersey, one in New York, and eight in California, Sunmerry Bakery will soon launch its ninth location in the Golden State. The sought-after pastry shop will settle in at 2129 Sawtelle Boulevard in Sawtelle Japantown, which had formerly housed the Japanese-inspired gallery Eleven Arts.

Sunmerry Bakery specializes in fresh Asian pastries and desserts such as the Green Tea Croissant, Taro Milk Cake, and BBQ Pork Chashu Bolo Buns. The bakery offers over 80 kinds of breads and cakes that are baked fresh everyday as well as a refreshing selection of boba, taro, and specialty tea and coffee drinks like the Salted Cheese Milk Tea and Brown Sugar Boba Latte.

Treat yourself to a delicious, fluffy dessert at Sunmerry Bakery’s soft opening this Saturday, July 10th. Sunmerry Bakery in Sawtelle Japantown will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. and 8 p.m., and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
