Orange County Thai restaurant White Elephant is looking to make its Los Angeles debut in Downtown, located at 541 S Spring St. Ste. 106 & 107.
The new restaurant will move into the former home of Calavera Burrito Co. and Bayleaf DTLA near the Spring Arcade Building at an unknown time. Owner Sunyalit Suwatluckul, better known as Earth, recently applied for a liquor license for the expansion. Suwatluckul, the President of ArtCenter Business Club, currently operates his Thai restaurant in Anaheim at 440 Anaheim Blvd. Ste. 207. Like the original, the food at the second location will be health-focused and packed with high-quality ingredients.
The new White Elephant menu will be highlighted by a fun modern take on the iconic and bold flavors of Thailand. Some popular menu items include honey pork belly, crying tiger steak, pad see ew, pad Thai, and garlic seared salmon. The restaurant will have other classic Thai dishes, including various starters, curries, soups, and salads. Guests will be able to order their food online for pickup or delivery.
“We are a small, tight-knit family with unique experiences and passion for food,” according to the company’s website. “Our love and curiosity for flavor had led us on many unexpected adventures, all of which eventually culminated into White Elephant and the dishes we have to offer. The menu is light and contains a limited set of items which includes a well-balanced blend of traditional wok-based dishes and refreshing contemporary creations. Healthy and hearty, each dish is carefully crafted, and quality focused to ensure that they pop with every bite.”
