Chef Citrin first opened Charcoal in 2015 inside Marina Tower Apartments. It was inspired by the backyard barbecues he would host for friends and family. In the kitchen, chefs use a live fire to cook their family-style dishes, either over charcoal or in the coals. The seasonal menu of comfort foods features locally-sourced proteins and vegetables like smokey grilled chicken wings and 48 oz. dry-aged Porterhouse. They also offer a range of craft cocktails, wine, and beer.

In addition to the Vox residences, Cumulus includes VOX (a 7-story residential mid-rise), Whole Foods, more than 46,000 square-feet of retail space, and an outdoor park.

The new Charcoal will include 236 seats between its 4,500 square-feet of indoor dining space and 1,300 square-foot patio area. An opening date has not been announced.

Chef Citrin could not be immediately reached for comment.
