It appears Cofax Coffee — a caffeine and burrito joint from the minds behind Bludso’s Bar & Que — may take over the space at 10868 Washington Boulevard in Culver City, according to signage posted to the building.

The space once served as home to Quicksand sandwiches, salads, and burgers.

What Now Los Angeles reached out to Co-Owner Nick Starr for comment and learned that the Cofax team is still unsure what they will do with the space, but is hoping to have more information by mid-January. This article will be updated as specifics become available.

Cofax was opened in 2014 with the humble purpose of giving customers and employees at Golden State burger joint (helmed by the same gang) a convenient place to get excellent coffee just down the street.

Seven years later, Golden State’s doors were unfortunately shuttered by the pandemic, but the hot spot’s popularity proved larger than life. As a remedy, the team moved select menu items to Cofax while in search of another permanent location.

It’s currently unclear if the incoming Washington Blvd. space will eventually remedy this issue.
