The City of Los Angeles late last week issued a building permit for the six-story, 74-unit project, at 11950 W. Missouri Avenue, on land formerly occupied by an animal shelter.

It is bound by Missouri Avenue to the North, Bundy Drive to the West, La Grange Avenue to the South and Armacost Avenue to the East.

Construction of the Missouri Place development, designed by Withee Malcolm Architects, is expected to cost $22,500,000, according to the permit.

Once complete in summer 2021, Missouri Place will feature one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment configurations with a 41-car garage.

Amenities include a courtyard, community area with a kitchen, management offices, library, computer lab, and a fitness center.

The project will serve low-income families with 50 percent of the units set aside as permanent supportive housing (affordable housing with supportive services for formerly homeless people.)
