“This location was far enough from our Agoura Hills spot, but still close enough to where people already know our food. The Thousand Oaks location will be more modern and will also have a patio for outdoor dining,” Ramon shares.

Ramon started Plata with his wife, Elvia, around 10 years ago. The couple hails from Zacatecas, Mexico and infuse their heritage into their homestyle cooking, using handmade tortillas, homemade salsas, and fresh fruits in their drinks.

The new restaurant will offer a similar menu to the original Agoura Hills location, with offerings like tacos, burritos, bowls, breakfast items, appetizers, salads, soups, margaritas, and tequilas. Main dishes include Mexican staples like tampiquena, tablita, enmoladas, chile relleno, and more.

According to Ramon, this is the only new location they have in the works for now but may expand further depending on how everything goes.
