[Rendering] Father’s Office Could Open Downtown Before The End of 2019

Plans for an outpost of the gastropub in The Garey Building mixed-use were first announced in May 2017.

Father’s Office, a small chain of gastropubs with locations in Culver City and Santa Monica, could finally open its long-awaited Arts District outpost downtown.

A debut before the end of 2019 is likely—probably in December—sources familiar with the project shared with What Now Los Angeles (WNLA) Sunday.

An exact opening date has not yet been finalized.

It’s been a long time coming for the new Father’s Office which for more than two and a half years has been planned for The Garey Building mixed-use, at 905 E. 2nd Street.

Owner Chef Sang Yoon announced the location in May 2017 and said an opening would happen before the end of that same year.

It’s unclear what caused the nearly two-year delay and Yoon did not immediately respond to a request by WNLA for comment Sunday.

Father’s Office will be slinging its popular burger out of a corner space adjacent to the recently-opened Bao Hiroo restaurant and the soon-to-open Dogdrop, a subscription-based doggy daycare center.

It is designed by Architect Ana Henton and will offer a patio for dining al fresco.
